The beauty of well-manicured nails never fails to capture the admiring eye. In our own times women care for their nails meticulously, as they did in the past, to find an expression of their personality. From simple polish to bright palette radiating iridescence, nail beautification art transcends all culture boundaries and establishes a unique, universal feminine identity.
Color, pattern, and texture play a prominent role in adorning nails. You need to choose those colors and designs that suit your style and attitude. You may not like the polish that is heavy and sticky and you have to be on your guard against damaging your cuticles. Your nails should be flexible and not brittle so instead of hardening your nails you may have to moisturize them from time to time.
Bold motifs and dark colors seem to have set the trend for nail art in 2012. Chunky or light, glitters are gaining ground, too. World famous brands like Dior, ORLY, OPI and Givenchy have come up with their repertoires of lacquer emphasizing distinctive tones. Of the colors conspicuous are red, black, metallic taupe, burgundy, green, blue and pink. Designs of rhinestones, 3D nail art for wedding and acrylic nail design stickers are some of the leftovers from last year's style.
Bithi's Words
Beauty Expert and Managing Director of Bithi's Herbal, Bithi Chowdhury, says the choice of the color and the design on the nails depends entirely on the personality of the person. Some people like to wear the color of the dress on the nails, some prefer neutral colors and still some others like to go for different colors and multicolored designs. Nowadays, bright colors are in fashion as are black and white or multicolored designs with nail polish or acrylic paints.
Bithi emphasizes that nails should be taken good care of otherwise they will not remain healthy. You need to have a manicure before applying paints to your nails. More precisely, you need to rub the nails with buffer and use a shiner, which also acts as a coat that protects nails from any harmful chemicals from the nail polish or paint. Before applying nail polish you need to shake the bottle very well. While pulling the brush out of the bottle clean one side of the brush and keep the paint at the other side.
You need to apply nail polish from the cuticle to the tip bearing in mind that the polish does not touch the skin of your fingers. You have to allow time for the first coat to dry up; only then should you apply the second coat. Acrylic paints are not harmful but you can always use a shiner to protect the nails. After applying a color or design, apply a layer of transparent coat which will keep your paint intact on the nails. For removing nail paints use a remover with moisturizer. Avoid cheap removers because they have a higher level of acid in them which is very harmful to your nails. And of course use cotton buds instead of tissue papers.
